OPPORTUNITY | STABILITY | HOPE
OUR MISSION
Creating opportunity, stability, and hope for the next generation.
The Garza Family Foundation is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for young people and communities in need. We partner with organizations that provide the support, resources, and relationships people need to build stable, independent lives and brighter futures.
Through long-term commitments and hands-on involvement, we strive to turn commitment into lasting change — one relationship, one community, and one life at a time.
OUR STORY
The Garza Family Foundation was founded on a simple belief: that giving back is one of the most meaningful ways a family can leave its mark.
For Jacob and Arleen Garza, that belief has been shaped by a life and business built together. After meeting in Dallas in 1988 and marrying in 1991, they spent two decades building careers of their own, Jacob in software and property management technology and Arleen in finance.
In 2012, they took a leap together, purchasing a 24-unit apartment community in San Antonio and founding what would become REEP Equity and REEP Residential. What began with one small property has grown into a multifamily platform of more than 6,000 apartment homes across Texas.
But for the Garza family, success has always meant more than what they could build for themselves. It has also meant creating opportunity for others and investing in the communities around them.
Today, that commitment is a family effort. Jacob and Arleen’s children, Victoria Garza-Fraser and Jack Garza, grew up in the family business, both beginning work at REEP as teenagers before eventually stepping into leadership roles of their own.
The Garza Family Foundation formalizes something the family has long believed: meaningful impact comes from more than financial support. It comes from building relationships, showing up, and staying committed for the long haul.
Every initiative we support reflects the values that have guided our family for generations: hard work, stewardship, community, and care for others.
WHO WE SUPPORT
The Garza Family Foundation partners with organizations creating meaningful, lasting change for young people, families, and communities. We seek relationships grounded in trust and shared purpose, with an emphasis on long-term impact.
Our involvement extends beyond financial support. Whenever possible, we believe in showing up personally, building relationships, and contributing our time alongside our resources.
OUR APPROACH
Long-Term Commitment
Meaningful change takes time. We seek partnerships we can invest in and grow alongside.
Personal Involvement
We believe giving is most meaningful when it includes our time, relationships, and presence — not only financial resources.
Shared Purpose
We partner with organizations whose work reflects our family’s values and creates tangible opportunity for the people and communities they serve.
Lasting Impact
Our goal is not simply to meet an immediate need, but to help create the stability and opportunity that allow people to build brighter futures.
OUR FAMILY LEGACY
Guided by faith and growth, our legacy will preserve and protect generational prosperity. By empowering ourselves and others through friendship, love and care, we commit to leaving a positive impact on the world.
OUR COMMITMENT TO
THRU Project
One organization especially close to our hearts is THRU Project, which helps young people transitioning out of foster care build stable, independent lives.
For young adults aging out of foster care, the transition into adulthood can come without many of the support systems others take for granted. THRU Project helps bridge that gap through mentorship, housing, mental health resources, life-skills programs, transportation assistance, and other critical support.
Through a renewed multi-year commitment, the Garza Family Foundation is proud to support THRU Project’s work and the young people it serves.
Our relationship with THRU Project goes beyond financial giving. Members of our family and team serve as mentors, creating personal relationships with young adults as they navigate education, careers, housing, finances, and adulthood.
That hands-on involvement reflects what philanthropy means to our family: not simply giving but showing up.
